... a moment to raise awareness of our pioneering business model and celebrate the more than 100,000 social enterprises in the UK working to benefit people and the planet.
Here at Metanoeo CIC, a Wirral-based social enterprise which works towards making living life well accessible for all, we are always keen to raise awareness of social enterprise and the difference it makes.
Social enterprises are businesses that trade for a social or environmental purpose. Like any other business, we look to make a profit, but it is what we do with that profit that sets us apart: reinvesting the majority to further our vital mission. Since we started trading in 2014, we have worked with hundreds of people and numerous community projects and businesses to help people live their lives well.
Social Enterprise Day is a global event that took place on Thursday 16 November 2023 celebrating the incredible contribution that social enterprises make to communities and the environment across the world. Metanoeo CIC, which was founded on Wirral in 2014, is a social enterprise which works with individuals, businesses and community projects to train and support community-based life coaches and create innovative tools and approaches to improve wellbeing. It’s one of more than 100,000 social enterprises in the UK, contributing an estimated £60bn annually to the economy.
Commenting on what the day means to them, Dr Dave Wood, Founder and Director of Metanoeo CIC said:
“Social enterprises across the UK are changing lives and communities which is why Metanoeo CIC is proud to celebrate and be part of Social Enterprise Day.
For example, we’ve been busy developing our own free resource, The Life Garage. It’s an online set of psychologically grounded concepts and tools to help people live life well. It’s intended to reach a wider audience than most wellbeing approaches with an emphasis on becoming your own life mechanic. Over the past year people from 76 countries have already enrolled on The Life Garage.
Metanoeo CIC is a member of Social Enterprise UK, the national membership body for social enterprises.
