Supporting Those at Risk of Offending (Taster session)

An interactive one-hour workshop giving participants the opportunity to explore some of the skills, approaches and expectations that are involved in working with individuals at risk of antisocial and offending behaviour. Participants will be able to gain an insight into what it is like to work in the sector and how best to support people journey from crime.

Engaging Values, Beliefs and Faith (Taster session)

An interactive one-hour workshop to facilitate participants exploring some of the opportunities and benefits that may arise when working with faith communities and the values, beliefs and faith of individuals to support change. Participants will be able to gain an insight into the potential of engaging the values, beliefs and faith of others in undertaking their own work.

A Beginners Guide to Developing Healthy Work Boundaries Between Colleagues (1 hour)

Do you face conflict in the work place as a result of different working styles or blurred boundaries between personal and professional lives? If so, this one-hour workshop will help you put in to place some key principles for restoring peace and balance.

Home Visiting Masterclass (1 hour)

This interactive sixty minute masterclass is aimed at making your home visits to clients more effective. It is based on the primary research undertaken by the trainer around visiting probation clients in their own homes.

Participants will receive a free copy of the accompanying workbook which is also available on Amazon.

Engaging the Values, Beliefs and Faith of Service Users (1 day)

This training day has been designed to help participants engage the faith* of service users as a means of human and social capital in their journeys of change. It is suitable for people working, or wanting to work with individuals with behaviours which are difficult for them or their communities including addiction, antisocial or offending behaviour. The sessions include:

  • Identity - How can faith contribute to notions of identity.
  • Reconciliation - How can faith contribute to a sense of belonging.
  • Creativity and Spirituality - Engaging service users in their own sense of individuality.
  • Personal Resilience - How can faith be engaged to sustain clients in the tough times?
  • Purposeful Journeying - How can faith be engaged to support a sense of purpose and direction?
  • Practising Hopefully - What does it mean to take a hopeful approach to working with people?

*In this training faith is defined as including any belief, religion, spirituality or humanism which helps a person in their journey of change.

Supporting People with Problematic Behaviours (1 day)

This training day is designed to help members of the community, volunteers, and people already working in the sector, to understand how they can support service users, friends and loved ones with problematic behaviours including addiction, antisocial and offending behaviour. The sessions include:

  • Supporting People - Verbal and non-verbal core communication skills for engaging the community.
  • Working through the difficult times - Supporting people to stay on track when things are tough.
  • Dealing with Substance Use - Identifying and supporting people with substance use difficulties.
  • Understanding Domestic Abuse - Identifying and supporting people around domestic abuse issues.
  • Promoting Pro-Social Behaviour 1 - Developing people’s vision for a better future; values and aspirations.
  • Promoting Pro-Social Behaviour 2 - Developing internal resources for journeying forward; problem solving techniques.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP): A Useful Toolkit (1 day)

The field of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) contains many powerful tools which can be used to help self, others and organizations. This one day training will give you a richer understanding of the amazing toolkit which NLP offers. It is practical and interactive, and it is intended that you develop your awareness in an climate which is safe, supportive, fun and stimulating. Ideal for Coaches, Counsellors, Teachers - indeed anyone who works with people! As Maslow once said “If the only tool you have is a hammer, then you tend to treat everything as if it were a nail.”

This training day will be led by Nick Buchanan who is a fully Qualified NLP Master Practitioner (INLPTA)
